Our Platform

Get ready for your digital expansion with the RamBase platform technology. RamBase is not only an ERP system, it’s also an ERP platform.

Having an ERP system with platform technology opens up a whole new world of possibilities, and what’s more important; it will not be a hinder for your business growth. The possibilities are nearly unlimited, in fact, it can also make it hard to grasp.

What is an ERP platform?

A traditional ERP system holds information on your core business, from logistics to  finance. A platform extends beyond this, taking in information from other software, BI, external websites or customer portals, etc. This is all made possible through the use of API technology.

Why do I need an ERP platform?

There are two main reasons why most companies today need an ERP system with platform technology:

1. Growth in a digital age

An ERP system gives you full control in all business areas, from logistic to finance. But there will always be areas of your business where you need other types of software.

The digitalisation and Internet of Things give great opportunity to use data in a better way, but it can also provide challenges. Business relevant information can be everything from customer information to delivery status, factors that will help you get the overview you need. The challenge is how to make use of this information and how to integrate it with the information provided by your ERP system.

With a “closed” ERP system, it’s often difficult, and costly, to let this other software talk to your core ERP system. But if your ERP system is also a platform, you’ll find it’s far less complicated. Make sure you are planning for growth, prepared for the future and ahead of the competition.

2. Efficiency

When your core ERP system can talk directly to other software, applications and web sites, you’ll save time. Even the smallest things like customer risk assessment is made easier if you can integrate your risk assessment software or website directly to your ERP system.

Status on deliveries can be made available directly in your logistics module, and talk directly to your ERP system – time is saved, and the potential for human errors lowered.

Your marketing department will see the immediate benefit of having a separate view with input from hubspot, facebook, google etc, all combined with the customer data stored in the ERP system for a better understanding of your customer and your customer potential. You can also make simplified mobile applications for orders or time stamping (or complex applications, whatever floats your boat).

3. Meeting your specific needs

A modern ERP system needs to be robust, flexible and configurable. It is not a one-size-fits-all but should be a solution meeting the needs of your business.

Many companies worry that ERP systems delivered from the cloud (Software as a Service) are rigid and not open for individual configuration. If your ERP system has platform technology capabilities, you’ll find that many of your individual needs can be met. You make use of the ERP functionality that is relevant to you. Which information you need your ERP system to hold is to a large extent configurable, and views can even be configured down to individual user level.

Also, you or your partner can easily develop applications that address your specific needs. Through the use of API technology, these external applications will be seamlessly integrated with your ERP system.

How does it work?

RamBase has a set of API’s, making it possible to integrate nearly everything with an internet connection. The API’s are the connection between your ERP system and the rest of the world – allowing true digitalization of your business. The API’s gather information from external software and communicates it to your ERP system. You can view it as a mediator, giving you exact information in real-time. The API’s can also extract information from the ERP system and display it in external applications, such as a customer portal, a BI app, etc.

Our API portal gives you the tools you need to customize the ERP system to fit your business. Some of our customers have in-house IT expertise who know how to use our API’s, but most of our customers make use of our partner’s expertise on the area. All new customers will be assigned to the partner that is best qualified to understand their business, making sure their needs are always met.
